Art for Social Change
Grades: 2nd-5th Grade
Dates: currently not meeting
Video, dance and visual art will be used as a medium to explore the role that the arts continue to play when addressing social issues. Students will create public art and videos to generate awareness about issues that directly impact themselves and the greater community. In the process, students will acquire key public and artistic skills, build community, and recognize their inherent capacity to create change. You can watch a video about the project we put together with students at Pioneer, by clicking on this link for ART FOR SOCIAL CHANGE VIDEO, or by clicking on the Final Presentation to the right of this text.
