Physical Education

Physical Education is much more than participating in physical activity. It is about learning how to be involved in ways that benefit you most. It is about exploring different opportunities, whether that be team sports, individual sports, or fitness-based activities. It’s about learning the physiology of the body and the impact on the brain and making good choices that lead to a long and healthy life.

The Physical Education program at Escuela Bilingüe Pioneer is based on the Boulder Valley School District (BVSD) Physical Education content standards and curriculum.  The BVSD Physical Education standards are modeled after the Colorado content standards for physical education.  The BVSD content standards are:
  1. Movement competence and understanding.
  2. Physical and personal wellness.
  3. Emotional and social wellness.
  4. Prevention and risk management.
One thing you can do to help your student be safe and responsible in P.E. (Standard 4) is ensure they wear appropriate footwear to P.E.  Boots, shoes with heels, flip-flops, sandals, Crocs, and open toed shoes are NOT safe to wear in P.E.  Shoes that stay snug on the foot and provide support and good traction are best.  The P.E. schedule is posted below so you and your student know which days are P.E. days.

Please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.  I look forward to a fun, healthy and active year!
